Uniform Data Standard (UDS) is a file format specification that allows receivers, liquidators, and guaranty associations to exchange insolvency-related claims and financial data to receivers electronically. UDS originated in 1990 when the NCIGF, guaranty associations, and receivers established the NAIC UDS Technical Support Group (TSG) and the UDS FTSG. These groups, consisting of claims, IT, and financial professionals from the receiver and guaranty fund communities, developed UDS and promoted its acceptance and use across the insurance resolution community. Detailed information about the UDS file formats and how they are used can be found at the Guaranty Support, Inc. (GSI) website at www.guarantysupport.com In addition to resources available through GSI, volunteer members of the UDS TSG and UDS FTSG groups are available to answer questions about UDS, the D-record, and related issues. If you have any questions, contact the UDS Help Desk by emailing [email protected]. |
